Visit to the old city to learn about its history and origins, including the Pilgrims route to Santiago that passes through the heart of the city.  You will join the official procession honoring San Fermin as it winds its way through the streets of the old city carrying the statue of the saint, lead by the giants and big heads, the city band and official city delegation.  Lunch today will be at the Restaurante Errota, a beautifully restored stone water mill in the village of Aoiz.

Bodega Tour
Today you will visit one of the premier wineries in Navarra, Bodega Señorio de Otazu, located on a private estate southwest of Pamplona.  Lunch will be at the Restaurante Epeleta, a traditional asador, or roasting house, rated as one of the best in the Basque Gastronomic Guide.  The restaurant is located in the village of Lekunberri about 30 kms northwest of Pamplona.

Historic Tours available upon request.

Historic Tour to Roncesvalles (Orreaga)
In the Pyrenees to the north of Pamplona lies the mountain pass at Ibañeta where history tells us the Basque people fought the army of Charlemagne in 778.  The view from the pass is breathtaking.  This is also the main route for Pilgrims  passing through Navarra on their way to Santiago de Compostela from France.  The Royal collegiate church of Roncesvalles was built in the 13th century to help the pilgrims who crossed the Pyrenees and is considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic on the Iberian Peninsula.  Inside you‚Äôll find  the tomb of Sancho the Strong, the king of Navarre, among other treasures.  Lunch will be at the Restaurante Ariitza in Burguete (Auritz), a village familiar to fans of Hemingway.
